Sophos Email Security Appliances

Sophos Email Security Appliances deliver industry-leading protection for enterprise email networks in a compact, intelligent and easy-to-manage format. Innovative threat detection technologies protect against viruses, spyware, Trojans, spam, and evolving email-borne threats. The management console offers easy control of the email gateway, providing an instant view of system performance, and comprehensive reporting enables better strategic management of the messaging infrastructure. Maximum uptime is ensured by built-in redundancy and automatic system maintenance. Sophos appliances communicate with Sophos every five minutes, automatically receiving anti-virus and anti-spam updates and reporting on hardware status. Optional remote assistance is available via a secure connection.

SAV Interface enables users of a wide range of standalone industry-standard applications to benefit from high-speed integration with the Sophos virus detection engine. All traffic entering or leaving through the third-party application - for example, web or email traffic, including compressed attachments - is checked for viruses, Trojans, worms and spyware. Infected attachments are disinfected, deleted or quarantined and a message is sent to the administrator. Anti-virus detection files from SophosLabs™ are kept fully up to date across the internet by Sophos's updating application, EM Library. In addition, Sophos's Behavioral Genotype® Protection analyses behavior before code executes, providing proactive detection.
